A police officer has been charged following an investigation into an alleged fraud.
Following an internal investigation, the 22-year-old male constable, who is attached to a command in the North West Metropolitan Region, was issued a Court Attendance Notice for two offences arising from an incident reported to police on Wednesday 9 December 2020.
The officer was charges with making a false accusation with intent to subject another to investigation and false representation resulting in a police investigation.
He is due to appear at Parramatta Local Court on Wednesday 31 March 2021.
The officer’s duty status will be assessed.
