The Australian Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman Kate Carnell has thrown her support behind the Academy for Enterprising Girls, which launched today.
The new program is designed to encourage young women to develop enterprise skills.
Funded by the federal government’s Future Female Entrepreneur’s Program, the program targets Australian females aged between 10 and 18 years interested in starting a business or pursuing a STEM career.
“The Academy offers young women the opportunity to develop the skills they need to be tomorrow’s leaders,” Ms Carnell says.
“The program fosters critical thinking and problem solving skills, giving young women the chance to unlock their potential in the career path they choose.
“My office is incredibly proud to partner with the Academy and to support the young women involved, many of whom may go on to become successful entrepreneurs.”
The Academy for Enterprising Girls is an online one-stop-shop offering girls practical advice from some of Australia’s leading business owners and organisations.
In 2020 an e-learning program will launch as well as a national series of workshops.
