OMCG member arrested for firearm offence

Detectives from Crime Gangs Task Force today conducted a search of premises of a Finks OMCG member in the northern suburbs.

As a result of the search police located a shotgun and ammunition on the premises. A 47-year-old man from Salisbury Downs was charged with contravening a firearms prohibition order. A 47-year-old woman also from Salisbury Downs and known to him, was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm.

Evidence was also located indicating tattooing was being undertaken at the premises. Investigations are continuing and police expect further charges to be laid.

The man was refused bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court today while the woman was bailed to appear in the same court on 26 August.

Detective Acting Chief Inspector Minchenberg from the Crime Gangs Task Force said, “police will continue to target members of Outlaw Motor Cycle Gangs for criminal offending”.
