Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating a fatal crash in Attwood this morning.
A vehicle travelling south-bound on Mickleham Road has veered into oncoming traffic and was t-boned by two vehicles about 7am.
One male passenger in the south-bound vehicle was taken to hospital where he later died.
The male driver and second male passenger in the same vehicle were taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The single occupants of the two other vehicles were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Extensive delays are expected while detectives work to determine the cause of the collision.
