Operation Nimrod arrests

Traffic Investigations officers, as part of Operation Nimrod, have charged 10 people after various hoon incidents in Kelmscott during December 2021.

Numerous reports were made to police in relation to significant and persistent anti-social behaviour and hoon driving in the area around Tinga Place. An operation commenced utilising overt and covert strategies during 2 and 5 December 2021.

10 arrests were made with 15 offences identified relating to Excess Smoke/Noise, Reckless Driving, and No Authority to Drive. 10 vehicles were impounded for 28 days, with several being extended to three months due to previous like offences.

The Operation NIMROD Task Force was established in December 2014 and are now known as Traffic Investigations. The unit is tasked with targeting known repeat traffic offenders. These drivers are identified from covert surveillance, tip offs, speed and red light camera offences, and other inquiries.
