Opportunity for West Coasters to Provide Ideas for 2019-2020 Annual Plan

West Coast residents and ratepayers once again have the opportunity to be directly involved in the delivery of projects and infrastructure, with West Coast Council encouraging the public to lodge submissions for consideration as part of their 2019-2020 Annual Plan and Budget deliberations.

Any ideas our community have about projects, to the benefit of the community, large or small, can be submitted as part of this process.

“As we work to deliver on the West Coast Community Plan 2025 we want help from the community to identify projects we can work on and issues we can tackle.” General Manager David Midson said.

All submissions are reviewed and taken into consideration by elected council members, with a priority focus to achieve a balanced budget whilst ensuring Council continues to pursue the community vision adopted in the West Coast Community Plan 2025.

West Coast councillors will also be touring the West Coast in our ‘budget bus’ initiative on 9th April to view potential the sites of potential projects and areas of concern raised by the community.

Continuing with Council’s commitment to engage with its community, a public meeting will be held on 20th June to present and explain the 2019-2020 Annual Plan and Budget.

Mayor Phil Vickers said “We want to build on the community engagement we had in creating the West Coast Community Plan 2025 to continue to deliver projects and improvements for the whole community. I strongly encourage everyone to get involved.”
