Engage and entertain younger family members at Bendigo Art Gallery’s City of Brights great range of autumn school holiday workshops at Dudley House, 60 View Street.
Suitable for children aged between 3 to 15 years, the City of Bright’s 10 workshops have been inspired by the gallery’s captivating exhibition, Paris: Impressions of Life 1880-1925.
The holiday program will run from Tuesday April 2 to Friday April 12.
Youngsters participating in the workshops will also be contributing to a ‘cumulative Paris-themed exhibition artwork’ that will be unveiled officially in a public exhibition at Dudley House from 10am to 12pm on Saturday April 13.
Bendigo Art Gallery Learning Manager Lena Mitchell said the workshops were created to add a touch of Paris to the autumn school holiday program.
“Participants are encouraged to dive into a world of creativity with all of the sessions offering a wide appeal, Ms Mitchell said.
“Families can book in for sessions with clay, paste-ups, drama, collage, mural making, a period costume life drawing session, watercolour postcards, printmaking, and an incredible series of music performances!
“At the end of the program families are invited to come and admire the final piece of ‘Paris’ artwork.
“The artwork celebrates emerging artists who have created a unique, collaborative, and cumulative exhibition as part of the workshop sessions.
“After their creative effort, children can ‘take home’ a piece of Paris when the exhibition is deinstalled after the formal unveiling. We’ve had an incredible community response to the Paris exhibition, and it’s so exciting for children to be able to create a Paris-inspired exhibition of their own.”
