Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal collision in Northcote this morning.
It is understood a woman was crossing St George’s Road, near the intersection of Emmaline Street, when she was struck by a car about 10.15am.
The pedestrian, an 80-year-old woman from Northcote, was taken to hospital with critical injuries where she later died.
The driver of the car, a 53-year-old woman, stopped at the scene.
