The City of Greater Geelong will upgrade the community facilities at St Helens Reserve in North Geelong, with the help of funding from the Australian Government.
The $435,000 project will see construction of a new picnic shelter with decking and ramps, as well as landscaping between the new facility and an existing concrete shelter.
Construction will begin this month and is expected to finish by the end of June 2024.

It’s a beautiful place to visit and the new shelter will mean there’s extra undercover space for people enjoying BBQs or a picnic.
This is a project the Council has been looking to deliver for quite a while and we’re happy we now have the funding to do that thanks to the federal government.
With spectacular views across Corio Bay, St Helens Reserve features BBQ facilities, a playground and public toilets. It is also the access point for the St Helens Jetty.
The $435,000 in funding will come from the City’s allocation under Phase 3 of the Australian Government’s Local Roads and Community Infrastructure program.
