A planning application has been submitted for a new commuter car park at Belgrave Railway Station.

The application seeks to replace the existing car park located at the rear of the current bus interchange area, with a proposed three-storey car parking structure.

The proposed car parking is intended for commuters and users of the Belgrave Railway Station, and will be constructed by VicTrack.

The planning application includes up to 667 car parking spaces (640 for commuters, 27 for railway staff), while the current car park has 170 spaces.

The proposed design would incorporate CCTV systems, lighting, PA systems and fire protection systems.

The application also features a series of upgrades at the station entrance on Belgrave-Gembrook Road, a variety of improvements for both cyclists and pedestrians, and removal of some existing vegetation with new landscaping treatments incorporated throughout.
