Play Create and Skate into Youth Week 2022

Murder Mysteries, creative writing workshops, Anime and Manga Appreciation Club and a street dance event in the newly installed Forum Q creative space are just some of the highlights of Campbelltown’s Youth Week program, 4 to 14 April.

This year’s theme ‘It’s up to YOU’ speaks to the importance of empowering our young people by sharing creative experiences and developing connections.

“This is an opportunity to celebrate the resilience and individuality of our young people and a way for them to feel empowered to explore their interests with this diverse program of events,” said Mayor George Greiss.

People aged 12 to 25 years are invited to attend any of the workshops or events and also to tell council their big ideas for the future.

“Whether you’re into dance, art, music, food, gaming or cinema there’s something for you to attend,” Cr Greiss said.

“It’s important for us to have an ongoing dialogue with our young people, where they’re engaged in the community and building their social networks,” he said.

Some exciting, premier events will be held this year, including a series of 9D, Virtual Reality, immersive short films for young people at Glenquarie Library and street dance performances and workshops at Forum Q on Queen Street.

At the purpose built outdoor dance space Forum Q, the Gather, Train, Create event will be staged for people of all ages and abilities to celebrate Youth Week with back-to-back workshops and performances held into the night featuring some of Western Sydney’s freshest talent.

This special event will be showcasing everything local Street Culture from street art to street dance to street food and more.
