Police appeal for information after pregnant woman robbed in Berala

Police are appealing for information after a pregnant woman was pushed to the ground and had her handbag stolen yesterday.

About 10.40pm (Wednesday 7 August 2019), a woman – who is five months pregnant – was entering a unit complex on Crawford Street, Berala.

She was approached from behind by a man who pushed her down and grabbed hold of her handbag.

The woman’s bag slipped out of her hands and the man ran from the scene before getting onto a light-coloured push bike and was seen riding down Nichol Lane.

The woman suffered back pain and was assessed by NSW Ambulance paramedics but did not require further treatment.

The man has been described as being aged between 40-50 with a small build and wearing a red/black long sleeve shirt, grey puffer vest, dark pants, black/red shoes with a black cap.
