Police appeal for information after serious assault in Granville

Police are appealing for information following a serious assault in Sydney’s west overnight.

About 7.30pm (Wednesday 9 December 2020), officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command were called to Boundary Street, Granville following reports a man had been assaulted.

Police have been told the 22-year-old man was getting out of his car when he was set upon by a group of five unknown men, armed with baseball bats.

The man was struck several times before he managed to run away.

The man was treated by NSW Ambulance Paramedics before being taken to Westmead Hospital with serious leg and head injuries.

The group fled the scene prior to police arrival.

As inquiries continue, police are appealing for anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
