Police appeal to locate woman missing from Newtown 18 February

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a woman missing from Sydney’s Inner West.

Margaret Ferrie, aged 80, was last seen at a community garden on the corner of Longdown and Stephen Street, Newtown, about 9.30am this morning (Sunday 18 February 2024).

When she could not be located or contacted, police were notified and officers from Inner West Police Area Command commenced inquiries into her whereabouts.

Police and family hold concerns for Margaret’s welfare as she lives with dementia and is unlikely to be able to make her way home.

She is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 160cm tall, of thin build, with medium length white hair.

Margaret was last seen wearing black trousers, a light blue and white vertically striped short sleeved shirt, black sneakers, and a red lanyard around her neck.

She is known to frequent main roads around Newtown, Stanmore, Enmore, Erskineville, and Camperdown.

Anyone with information into her whereabouts is urged to contact Inner West police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
