Police arrest four people after pursuit – Surry Hills

A man and three teenagers have been arrested following an alleged pursuit in Sydney’s CBD overnight.

About 11pm (Thursday 17 November 2023), police responded to reports a vehicle was driving dangerously on Oxford and Young Streets, Surry Hills.

Police sighted the vehicle and attempted to stop it at the intersection of South Dowling and Cleveland Streets; however, the vehicle failed to stop as directed and a pursuit was initiated.

The vehicle, a Toyota Landcruiser – reportedly stolen from a Queensland address – continued along South Dowling Street before crashing into approximately thirty vehicles – both moving and stationary – before stopping, near the intersection of Crescent Street.

Four people were seen fleeing on foot before allegedly getting into an Uber.

Following inquiries, officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command arrested a 22-year-old man, two boys – aged 12, 17 – and a 16-year-old girl at a home in Bossley Park. They were taken to Fairfield Police Station.

Inquiries continue.
