Police Arrest Man After Brunswick Hit-run

Fawkner Highway Patrol officers arrested a man after a car allegedly struck a pedestrian, collided with a vehicle and crashed into two parked cars in Brunswick last Saturday night.

Investigators allege a pedestrian was struck by a black Yaris at the intersection of Sydney Road and Albert Street just before midnight.

The pedestrian, a 22-year-old Reservoir man, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

It’s alleged the driver of the car did not stop at the scene and continued east on Albert Street.

A short time later, the Yaris collided with another vehicle before it crashed into two parked cars.

There were no other reported injuries.

Police have since arrested a 22-year-old Epping man and he was interviewed in relation to the incident.

It is expected he will be charged on summons with unlicensed driving, fail to stop after a collision, careless driving and make false report to police.

Anyone who witnessed the incidents, has CCTV/dashcam footage or information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
