Police arrest man after failing to self-quarantine, South Australia

Police have arrested a man following an alleged breach of COVID-19 directions.

Just after 8pm on Thursday 9 July, police attended an address at Glenelg after receiving information the man was not quarantining at the place nominated by him following his entry into South Australia from Victoria the day prior.

On arrival, police spotted the man leaving the address in a Holden SUV. Patrols followed him and conducted a traffic stop a short distance away. Further enquiries revealed the man had only made a single night booking at his accommodation as opposed to 13 nights.

The 35-year-old from Keysborough was charged with failing to comply with a direction and refused bail. He appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court today and was remanded in custody to reappear on 12 August.
