A police operation on Mitchell Street, Ermington, has ended after a man was arrested shortly before 2pm (Thursday 8 February 2024).
Officers attached to Ryde Police Area Command attempted to speak with a 50-year-old man at the scene but was unsuccessful.
Police established a perimeter and were assisted at the scene by the Tactical Operations Unit.
He was checked at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Westmead Hospital for treatment and assessment.
Inquiries are continuing.
