Police have arrested a man following a building fire in Prahran overnight.
Emergency services were called to Greville Street about 10.45pm after reports of a building fire and a man seen in the area with a blow torch.
The offender had fled the scene before police arrived.
Fire crews quickly extinguished the blaze and deemed it to be suspicious.
The area was searched by police and a number of evidentiary items were located.
A crime scene guard was set up and a man entered the scene about 12.45am.
He was spoken to by police, arrested and is currently assisting detectives with their enquires.
