A man has been arrested after setting fire to a stolen car at West Lakes Shore.

Police will allege that about 3.30am today (Thursday 25 March), witnesses reported seeing a man set fire to a blue Toyota sedan in the carpark of a hotel on Bartley Terrace. The man then ran away from the scene.

A description of the suspect was provided to patrols, who located the man nearby.

Further checks revealed the Toyota had been stolen from a West Lakes Shore house during a break-in earlier in the night.
