Police Arrest Three After Kidnapping In Yinnar South

Latrobe Crime Investigation Unit have arrested two men and a woman following a kidnapping in Yinnar South on 26 July.

It is alleged that a 45-year-old Wallan man attended the address of a woman known to him for a pre-arranged meeting, about 11.40am.

When the victim arrived, the female had left the address and two males unknown to the victim, but alleged to be known to the woman, allegedly attended the property and began assaulting the victim.

The offenders put the victim in a vehicle, before allegedly stealing his vehicle and taking the man to nearby bushland.

The victim managed to escape from the offenders and attended an address on Creamery Road for assistance and called 000.

The victim was taken to hospital with significant injuries.

The 38-year-old-woman from Yinnar South was located by police and arrested. She has since been released pending further enquiries.

A 35-year-old Trafalgar man was arrested in Trafalgar on 28 July.

He has been charged with kidnapping, false imprisonment, intentionally cause injury, theft of motor vehicle, theft, assault with a weapon, assault in company, reckless exposure of police officer to risk by driving.

He has been remanded to appear at Latrobe Valley Magistrates Court today.

A 42-year-old-man from Trafalgar South was arrested today at an address in Trafalgar and is currently being interviewed.
