Police arrest three for aggravated robbery, South Australia

Three people have been arrested after three aggravated robberies in the southern suburbs early this morning.

At 1.32am on Thursday 7 April police responded to a hold up alarm at a service station on Marion Road Mitchell Park. Two teenage boys allegedly entered the store threatened staff and stole cigarettes.

At 1.42am while police were at the Mitchell Park there was a second hold up alarm at a service station on South Road St Marys. Two teenage boys allegedly entered the store and threatened staff before jumping the counter, punching the attendant. They left empty handed.

Less then 10 minutes later at 1.51am police responded to a third hold up alarm at a service station on Fiveash Drive. Two teenage boys allegedly entered the store and threatened the console operator with a knife before jumping the counter and punching him. The teens stole cash and cigarettes.

Two console operators sustained minor injuries. One requires medical treatment.

Police dog Bandit and his handler were called in to assist and while they were tracking in the area they saw a blue Nissan with three people in it in a carpark on Rothesay Avenue at St Marys.

The car was searched, cash and cigarettes were located.

A man aged 33 of no fixed address and two 17-year-old boys from Hewett and Kilburn were arrested and charged with three counts of aggravated robbery. They have all been refused police bail and will appear in Adelaide Magistrates and Adelaide Youth Court today.

The cigarettes and cash stolen during the robberies were recovered.

Police seized the blue Nissan and are making enquires with the owner of the car to establish if it is stolen.
