Police arrest two after CBD carjacking

Police have arrested two men after an alleged carjacking in Melbourne’s CBD overnight.

Officers have been told the two men approached a stationary vehicle on the corner of King Street and Flinders Street about 1am.

Allegedly, the pair opened the vehicle’s door, grabbed the driver by the arm and pulled him out of the car.

It is believed the pair got into the vehicle, before realising the driver still had the keys.

One man then allegedly grabbed the driver’s mobile phone from the vehicle, before both fled on foot.

The pair were arrested at Southern Cross Railway Station a short time later.

Two 21-year-olds from Melbourne West are assisting police with their enquiries.
