Police Arrest Two After Shepparton Pursuit

Shepparton Crime Investigation Unit have arrested two people following a pursuit with an allegedly stolen vehicle in Shepparton this afternoon.

Officers were called to reports of a car driving erratically on the Peter Ross Edwards Causeway, just before 12pm.

Soon after, officers located a black Holden Calais in a restaurant car park in Mooroopna.

Police attempted to speak to the occupants, but the driver reversed, colliding with the front of the police vehicle.

There was one officer inside the vehicle at the time, however they were uninjured.

The Holden also collided with a stationary vehicle in the carpark. The passenger in that vehicle, a man in his 90s from Quarry Hills, suffered from minor injuries.

The female passenger of the Holden, a 37-year-old Collingwood woman, left the vehicle and was arrested by officers.

Police followed the Holden into St Georges Road in Shepparton, where tyre deflation devices were successfully deployed.

Officers forced entry into the vehicle and arrested the driver, a 31-year-old from Richmond.

They are currently assisting police with enquiries.
