Police at Somerville Highway Patrol detected a grey Toyota SUV travelling on Skye Road just after midnight.
The driver of the vehicle, a 41-year-old Frankston man was allegedly detected travelling at 75/km per hour in a 60km/per hour zone.
He returned a positive evidentiary breath test of .107.
The man’s vehicle has been impounded at a cost of $1280.00.
His license was immediately suspended and he is expected to be charged on summons with drink driving and exceed speed.
