A man is due in court tomorrow charged after a passenger was injured on a bus in the state’s Riverina yesterday.
About 4.30pm today (Friday 19 June 2026), emergency services were called to Byrnes Road, Junee, following reports of an assault on board a bus.
Officers attached to Riverina Police District attended and were told a 61-year-old man was assaulted by another man, who had allegedly been acting aggressively towards the bus driver.
The 61-year-old man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Junee Hospital for treatment.
Following inquiries, police arrested a 52-year-old man about 7.45pm.
He was taken to Junee Police Station where he was charged with affray, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
The man has been refused bail before his appearance via AVL in Bail Division Local Court 5 tomorrow (Saturday 20 June 2026).
