Police charge man over Sale armed robbery

Wellington Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man with armed robbery following an incident in Sale during the week.

The incident occurred at a service station on Foster Street on Thursday 26 September at 7.40pm.

Police have been told the man entered the store, armed with a jemmy bar, and demanded cash from the attendant.

The man was given an amount of cash before smashing an EFTPOS machine and leaving the store.

Investigators arrested a 36-year-old Longford man at Traralgon the next morning and charged him with armed robbery, criminal damage, assault and possess cannabis.

The man was remanded to appear at the Sale Magistrates’ Court on 30 September.
