Police charge man with high range PCA after crash with motorcycle in Manly

A man has been charged over a serious crash on Sydney’s northern beaches today.

About 3pm (Friday 24 June 2022), emergency services responded to reports of a crash between a car and motorcycle at the intersection of Collingwood Street and Pittwater Road, Manly.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the 26-year-old female motorcycle rider at the scene before she was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Officers from Northern Beaches Police Area Command commenced an investigation into the matter.

The driver – a 50-year-old man – was uninjured and was subjected to a roadside breath test, which returned a positive reading.

He was arrested and taken to Manly Police Station, where he underwent a breath analysis which returned an alleged reading of 0.223.

The Northmead man was issued a court attendance notice for high range PCA to appear at Manly Local Court on Wednesday 3 August 2022.

His licence was also suspended.
