A man has been charged with murder, after a man’s body was found in the Illawarra.
Officers attached to Lake Illawarra responded to Primrose Place, Farmborough Heights about 6pm yesterday (Sunday 4 February 2024), to find a 74-year-old man deceased, in the backyard of a home.
A 48-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station.
Strikeforce Oketo was established by officers attached to Lake Illawarra Police District with the assistance of State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad, to investigate the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.
Around 6pm yesterday (Monday 5 February 2024) the man was charged with murder.
He was refused bail to appear in Wollongong Local Court today (Tuesday 6 January 2024).
