Police charge teens after stabbing in Wangaratta

Wangaratta Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged three teens after an alleged stabbing and assault in Wangaratta.

It is alleged that two male victims were walking along White Street when they were approached by a group of offenders on Friday 29 September about 2.20am.

A 17-year-old Newport boy was allegedly stabbed and airlifted to hospital with life threatening injuries.

An 18-year-old Wangaratta man was allegedly assaulted and taken to hospital.

Three teens were arrested in Benalla on 2 November.

Two 16-year-old boys and a 17-year-old boy, all from Benalla, were charged with affray.

The trio have been bailed to appear at a children’s court at a later date.

The investigation continues in relation to the other people involved.
