Police charge three after pursuit in Ballarat

Ballarat Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged three teenagers following a short pursuit in Ballarat on 3 July.

It’s understood an allegedly stolen green Kia Sportage was seen driving erratically near the Eastern oval in Peel Street just after 9.30am.

Police attended and stop sticks were deployed.

The stolen vehicle drove away, and a short pursuit was initiated.

The offenders drove along the Bridge Mall at a slow rate of speed before crashing into a pole.

Three male occupants were arrested at the scene.

A 18-year-old Ballarat man was charged with:

– Aggravated Recklessly Exposure of Police officer to risk by driving

– Two counts of theft of a motor vehicle

– Dangerous driving whilst be pursued by police

– Reckless conduct endangering serious injury

– Assault police

– Unlicenced driving

– Theft from a motor vehicle

– Two counts of aggravated burglary with person present

– Two counts of heft

– Threat to inflict serious injury

– Trespass

– Robbery

– Assault with Weapon

He’s been remanded and will appear at Ballarat Magistrates’ Court at a later date.

A 17-year-old Ballarat boy has been charged with Theft of a motor vehicle, resist police, assault police, drug and bail offences.

He will appear at a children’s court at a later date.

A 18-year-old Ballarat was charged with theft of a motor vehicle and theft.

He was bailed to appear at Ballarat Magistrates’ Court on 28 August.
