Police charge three over drug supply syndicate – Strike Force Selma

Detectives have charged three men following an investigation into alleged drug supply in Sydney’s southwest.

In October 2023, detectives attached Camden Police Area Command established Strike Force Selma to investigate the supply and distribution prohibited drugs of in the wider Camden area.

Following inquiries, around 4pm on Friday (27 October 2023), strike force investigators were patrolling the Camden Bypass, Narellan, when they stopped a black Holden ute.

After speaking with the driver, police searched the man and the vehicle with officers locating a trench knife (knuckle duster + knife), ice, heroin, gamma-butyrolactone (GBL), Xanax, drug paraphernalia, and a sum of cash.

The 49-year-old man was arrested and taken to Narellan Police Station where he was charged with:

– Two counts of supply prohibited drug greater than indictable and less than commercial quantity

– Two counts of possess prohibited drug

– Deal with property proceeds of crime less than $100,000

– Possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit

The man was refused bail and appeared before Parramatta Local Court on Saturday 28 October 2023, where he was granted conditional and to appear before Campbelltown Local Court on Thursday 9 November 2023.

Following further inquiries, around 8am today (Wednesday 1 November 2023), two men – aged 44 and 50 – were arrested during a vehicle stop on Lodges Road, Elderslie, and were taken to Narellan Police Station.

Strike force investigators – with the assistance of the South West Metro Operation Support Groups – executed a search warrant at the 44-year-old’s property on Yengo Avenue, Elderslie, just before 10am today (Wednesday 1 November 2023).

During the search, police seized ice, cannabis, prescription medications, and mobile phones. All items have been sent for forensic examination.

The 44-year-old man was charged with:

– Two counts of supply prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis

– Organises/conducts/assists drug premises

– Supply prohibited drug greater than indictable and less than commercial quantity

– Possess prohibited drug

– Deal with property proceeds of crime less than $100,000

He was bail refused to appear before Picton Local Court tomorrow (Thursday 2 November 2023).

The 50-year-old man was charged with take part supply prohibited drug greater than small and less than or equal to indictable quantity.

He was granted conditional bail to appear before Picton Local Court on Wednesday 29 November 2023.
