Police Charge Two After Home Invasion In Little River

Wyndham Crime Investigation Unit detectives, along with Western Region Crime Squad and the Westgate Divisional Response Unit, have charged two teenagers following a home invasion in Little River on Tuesday.

Officers will allege the pair forced entry to a property in Rothwell Street about 12.20am on 5 March.

The pair, who were allegedly armed with machetes and a firearm, made demands for cash before assaulting a 73-year-old woman who was home at the time.

The woman sustained minor injuries and declined medical assistance.

A 47-year-old woman and a 17-year-old boy were both present during the incident and were not physically injured.

Detectives have charged a 17-year-old boy from Wyndham Vale and an 18-year-old man from Kingston, Queensland, with:

• aggravated home invasion (steal) with firearm

• aggravated home invasion (steal) offensive weapon

• commit indictable offence whilst on bail x 2,

• and theft of motor vehicle.

Detectives have also charged the 17-year-old Wyndham Vale boy with intentionally causing serious injury in circumstances of gross violence.

This charge relates to an alleged stabbing in Werribee on 29 January.

It is believed a 16-year-old boy was stabbed following an alleged altercation with the 17-year-old on Overton Road about 5.50pm.

The boy was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The 17-year-old boy will appear before a children’s court at a later date.

The 18-year-old man was remanded to appear before Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 8 March.
