Police continue to investigate death in Derrimut

Armed Crime Squad detectives are now investigating following the discovery of a man’s body in Derrimut yesterday morning.

The 34-year-old Maribyrnong man was located deceased on Boundary Road shortly after 6am.

Detectives now believe that the man may have fallen from a motor vehicle in East Derrimut Crescent and his death is no longer being treated as a homicide.

A burglary and shooting at a property in nearby East Derrimut Crescent are also being investigated and it is believed that the incidents are likely to be linked to the man’s death.

Witnesses told police that they observed a white van speeding along Derrimut Drive and Boundary Road with the rear door open just after 11.15pm.

It is believed the man may have fallen from the white van and detectives are particularly keen to speak to anyone who was in or travelling through the Derrimut area between 8pm on the evening of Wednesday, 18 November and 1am Thursday, 19 November who may have witnessed the incident or have dash cam footage.
