Police hold concerns for welfare of Alice Springs 2 November

Northern Territory Police are seeking public assistance to locate two people who have been reported as missing from Alice Springs since last weekend.

Family members told police 17-year-old Makasha Prayta left home with her one-year-old child, Shontayhia on Saturday 24 October to travel to the cross border region of Western Australia.

Makasha and her child are believed to be travelling in a blue Holden VT Commodore with Northern Territory registration CE10KU.

Initial inquiries indicate Makasha may have links to Ntaria or Warburton.

Police hold concerns for the pair as they have not been in contact with family since they were last seen, and initial police inquiries have not located the two.

Makasha is described as a 17-year-old Aboriginal female with a slim build, brown eyes and shoulder length wavy hair.

Police urge anyone with information as to the whereabouts of Makasha and Shontayhia to contact them on 131 444 or report it anonymously via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 and reference PROMIS number 9463864.
