Northern District Police along with Security Response Section (SRS) and STAR group officers are currently at an address at McDonald Park north of Edinburgh.
Just on 11am on Friday 10 July, police were contacted in regards to checking on the welfare of a person reported to be inside a house in Elwood Road. There are also unconfirmed reports of a firearm possibly at the premises.
Police patrols have cordoned off the street and called in SRS and STAR group members, along with police negotiators, who will attempt to make contact with any persons inside the house.
