Detectives from Brimbank Crime Investigation Unit continue to investigate a serious assault which occurred in Sunshine in January.
Investigators have been told a 33-year-old Wyndham Vale man prevented an argument from escalating between his friend and a group of males on City Place.
His friend left and the Wyndham Vale man returned to his car which was parked nearby.
The group followed and harassed the victim before a fight ensued.
The victim was punched and kicked to the ground and rendered unconscious while the offenders fled the scene.
Emergency services were called and the victim taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Investigators have released images of four men that they believe may be able to assist with their enquires.
