Police investigate assault at Berwick bus stop

Police are appealing for public assistance following an assault in Berwick last month.

Investigators have been told a 48-year-old man was travelling on a bus when an unknown man became verbally abusive about 2.45pm on 27 June.

The victim got off the bus at Berwick Inn on High Street, Berwick and the man followed him and punched him to the face.

The victim fell to the ground, causing him to break his ankle while the offender fled on foot towards Lyall Road.

Investigators have released an image of a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

He is perceived to be aged 30-40-years-old, approximately 175cm tall with a thin build, short brown hair and a goatee.

He was wearing a black hooded jumper, blue jeans and black runners with white soles.
