Police and emergency services responded to an incident in Altona Meadows this morning (28 May).
It is understood the victim, a 25-year-old Werribee man, was assaulted with a walking stick by an offender in a car park on Merton Street about 12.30am.
The victim sustained a minor cut to his head and was transported to hospital for observation.
At this stage investigators believe the two parties may be known to each other.
