Fawkner Highway Patrol are investigating a serious collision in Coburg this morning.
It is believed a 72-year-old woman was struck by a ute on Shamrock Street near Moreland Road about 5.30am.
She has been taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the ute stopped at the scene and is currently assisting police with their enquiries.
