Police investigate carjacking in Granville

A man has had his vehicle stolen at knife-point while stopped outside Clyde Railway Station tonight.

About 1am (Thursday 22 August 2019), a man stopped in his black Subaru Forester on Sutherland Street, Granville, when a white coloured car with four occupants stopped behind.

Occupants of the white coloured car approached the Subaru driver and threatened him with a knife while demanding he get out of his car.

The driver complied, and one of the armed men got into his car and drove west on Marsh Street, the remaining three men got back into the other car and left the scene.

Police were called, and the Forester was sighted by officers in an unmarked police vehicle on Pitt Street, Parramatta. A short pursuit was engaged, however, police terminated due to the dangerous driving of the stolen Forester.

An investigation is now underway by officers from Cumberland Police Area Command.

Officers have now located the stolen black Subaru Forester in Rosehill Street, Granville abandoned.
