Whitehorse Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance following a firearms incident that occurred in Vermont South this morning.
Police have been told a blue Volvo sedan and silver Suzuki sedan collided on Livingstone Road near Dianne Grove just before 8.30am.
It is believed gun shots were fired and both vehicles fled the scene.
They were last seen travelling south on Livingstone Road towards Burwood Highway.
Investigators are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident and are keen to speak to any witnesses.
