Police investigate Melbourne CBD stabbing and armed robbery incidents

Melbourne Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating two stabbings and a series of armed robberies in Melbourne’s CBD this evening.

Emergency services responded to reports a woman had stabbed a man at the intersection of Flinders and Downie streets about 5pm.

A short time later, the woman allegedly stabbed another female near the intersection of Flinders and Spencer streets.

Both the male and female victims were transported to hospital with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators were told six people, four men and two women, were also threatened by a woman with a knife in separate armed robbery incidents in the area.

They were not injured.

A 28-year-old Morwell woman was arrested and is assisting police with their enquiries.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incidents are yet to be determined and investigations are ongoing.
