Police investigate serious assault at Windsor

Police are investigating the serious assault of a woman in Windsor last night.

Just before 10pm, the 19-year-old woman was walking from the train station.

When on Bonython Street, she was approached from behind by a man, who placed his forearm over her face.

The woman screamed and made attempts to escape when the man wounded her hip with an unknown object before he pushed her to the ground.

The man then ran off towards Hadfield Street.

The woman sustained wounds to her hip, a swollen forearm and bruised knee during the incident and was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital for treatment.

The man and woman are not known to each other.

Anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious behaviour in the area or who may have seen the man running from the area is asked to contact police.
