Police lay charges after series of offending in western Victoria

Police have charged a man following a string of events in western Victoria between December 2019 and January.

The 39-year-old Norlane man has been charged with kidnapping and assaulted related offences.

He has been remanded to appear in Geelong Magistrates’ Court on 3 April.

The charges relate to alleged kidnapping and assaults in Steiglitz Historic Park on Hut Road Steiglitz on 31 December, Coopers Bridge Campground on Meredith-Steiglitz Road in Meredith on 1 January and in Mooreep Reserve on Slate Quarry Road in Durdiwarrah on 2 January.

The investigation remains ongoing and police are appealing to anyone who was in the area camping at the time who has any information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
