Police lay charges – Domestic Violence – Coolalinga 11 September

Northern Territory Police have charged a man with multiple domestic violence related offences in Coolalinga.

At 2:40am on Friday 8 September 2023, police received reports that that a 33-year-old man had assaulted his 25-year-old partner at a caravan park on the Stuart Highway, Coolalinga.

Upon emergency services arrival, the victim was located with serious injuries to her head and ribs. She was conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital, where she received treatment for her injuries.

He was arrested at the scene a short time later and has since been charged by Detectives from the Domestic and Family Violence Unit with:

  • Acts intended to cause serious harm
  • Choking, strangling in a domestic relationship
  • Deprivation of liberty

He was remanded to appear in Darwin Local Court today.
