A woman has been charged over allegedly driving while under the influence of drugs before crashing into a NSW Police Force vehicle earlier this year.
About 1am on Wednesday 15 July 2020, a police vehicle attached to South Coast Police District was travelling northbound along the Princes Highway, Broadwater, when a Toyota Prado travelling southbound lost control and overturned.
The vehicle collided head-on with the police vehicle near the intersection of Hardakers Road.
The Toyota driver, a 42-year-old woman, suffered a laceration to her arm. She was taken to Bega Hospital along with two passengers, a 22-year-old man and a four-year-old girl, for observation.
The driver and sole occupant of the police vehicle, a male senior constable, suffered a head injury. He was taken to Bega Hospital in a stable condition.
A crime scene was established with officers from the Crash Investigation Unit attending to assist.
Following extensive inquiries, investigators issued the 42-year-old woman a Court Attendance Notice on Wednesday 14 October 2020.
The Eden woman was charged with two counts of cause bodily harm by misconduct in charge of motor vehicle, not keep left of dividing line, and drive vehicle under influence of drugs.
She is due to appear in Eden Local Court today (Wednesday 9 December 2020).
