Northern Territory Police have charged a man after an alleged sexual assault in Darwin City yesterday.
Around 4pm, police received a report that a woman was allegedly sexually assaulted in the vicinity of Austin Lane, Darwin City.
Police deployed to the area and a crime scene was established.
A short time later, a 56-year-old man was arrested and currently remains in police custody.
Detectives from the Sex Crimes Division have now charged him with one count of sexual intercourse without consent.
He was remanded to appear in Darwin Local Court tomorrow
