Police make arrest after Cloverdale assault

A 21-year-old man from Bennett Springs is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court today, (29 February 2020) after he was charged by Cannington Detectives for the offences of:

• Unlawful Act or Omission with Intent to Harm (Endangering life, health or safety of any person); and

• With Intent to do Grievous Bodily Harm Does Grievous Bodily Harm to Another.

The man is a licenced Security Officer and on Friday 20 February 2020, he was working at a shopping centre located on Belmont Avenue in Cloverdale.

About 2.40pm, the man in his role as Security Officer was asked by a staff member from a store within the centre to remove a man who was alleged to from a store within the shopping centre by a store staff member from that store.

It will be alleged whilst removing the man from the store a physical altercation took place between the two men.

It is further alleged another altercation took place between the men on the footpath that runs along Fulham Street.

During the altercation the 30-year-old victim, lost two teeth and received lacerations and bruising. He was conveyed by ambulance to Royal Perth Hospital for treatment.
