Police make arrest after police pursuit Seacombe Gardens, South Australia

A teenager will face court today after crashing a car into a light post at Seacombe Gardens and running from the scene.

Just before 9.30pm Thursday 28 November, police observed a White Holden station wagon travelling west on Sturt Road with no headlights on. Police activated their emergency lights in an attempt to stop the car and speak to the driver but the car took off at speed away from the patrol.

Police pursued the station wagon for a short time before terminating due to safety reasons. The car continued a short distance before crashing into a light pole near the corner of Sturt Road and Morphett Road.

The driver, a 16-year-old boy allegedly ran from the car in to nearby Greenasche Grove where he attempted to hide from police, but was arrested soon after.

The passenger a, 17-year-old female, was spoken to at the scene.

The boy from Blackwood has been charged with driving without headlights, engage in police pursuit and driving unlicenced. He has been refused bail and will appear in the Adelaide Youth Court today.
